Pregnancy - Panic Disorders Message Board

I have a quick question....I suffer from anxiety/panic disorder and have been on Celexa and Klonopin for the last year. Both drugs have worked wonders for me. My husband and I would like to start a family soon and I was wondering if there was anyone out there who was pregnant on one/both of these meds or knows anything about being pregnant while on these meds.

Both medications are not to be used during pregnancy. You can talk to your pb/gyn about other medications that may be okay to use.

Hi!

Just wanted to put my two cents in......... i too have panic disorder and a stomach condition know as duo denitis and had to be on losec. I was told by my family doctor and quite a few pharmacists that i absolutely could NOT be on it and pregnant. After speaking to one more pharmacist she said that she thought it would be ok and that she would contact MOTHER RISK which is an organization here in Canada that knows what medications are safe and what are not. They do study's and have actual results from people that have been on meds and been pregnant.

So i would suggest before you listen to others, find out if you have such an organization in your area or surrounding area that will be able to tell you the 'whole' picture. I have 'heard' that some women are on SSRI's while pregnant. Talk to your doctor and look into it more deeply and you'll find the answers!

many women take klonapin and celexa during pregnancy with no problems, it can be a case of finding a doc who agrees with your taking them
sometimes being pregnant stops anxiety and panic attacks, with no need for meds
