Post Cant leave the house

Hello,
I havnt been able to leave the house in a very long time. Is anyone in a similar situation? if so, how long has it been for you? And what kind of things do you do to make it bearable?

Jamie

Once I didn't leave the house for a month. The moment I opened the front door and stepped out I got a panic attack. But after a month I went outside anyway and had one continuous panic attack. But after going outside every day for a few days it got kind of bearable.

I still don't leave the house very often. I never leave the house when there's nobody I can call to come and pick me up if it gets to much. And I don't go alone if where I'm going is more than a kilometer away.

Hi Jamie,

That form of anxiety is called Agoraphobia, and people can have this on all different levels. This type of anxiety can be treated with counseling and sometimes with medication! Are you doing anything to get help for yourself? If not already, you should perhaps make contact with your doctor over the phone and tell him/her what's going on, so you can get some proper treatment on how to deal with this type of anxiety.

Although you may not see any light at the end of the tunnel, there is, and you can move forward. But it will take some work on your part! Please call your doctor so a plan can be set in place to have you feeling better. Wishing you a peaceful day.

to jamie, if you get panic attacks on leaving, any valium type meds will help a lot they reduce panic attacks and make you able to get out, go places and do things, large doses are generally needed

panic attacks are most unpleasant but they wont harm you.

for some people , walking about after dark is easier

Have you tried home study programs for this condition. Attacking Anxiety & Depression is excellent(I use this). Check out stresscenter.com
