Upped Celexa=Major Anxiety! - Panic Disorders Message Board

I've been on Celexa for over a month now, and things seemed to be going okay. My symptoms of anxiety and depression were going away. My doctor raised my dose from 20 mgs to 40 mgs two days ago, and ever since, my anxiety has been really bad. I had two near panic attacks at work today.

Is this normal? What can I do?

It may just be your body getting use to a higher dosage.

I went from 10mg to 20mg a few days ago, and the same thing happened. I think it should go away in a few days. If it doesn't, then the dosage is too high for you, but I hear it's extremely common for anxiety to happen when you up your dosage.

would probably be better to halve the tablets and go up from 20 to 30 for a while

just today I went up from 20 mg to 30 mg. The obsessive thoughts were coming way too often and as far as the anxiety is concerned...it is certainly there. I woke up at 3 am with my heart racing. My doc suggests taking a klonopin when I feel this way. At this transition period I can take up to 4 mg(at different times in the day) in a day to relieve anxiety and panic!!! Good luck!
