To put it short and sweet, it's the only thing that has ever worked for me.

Xanax is also the only prescription that has ever worked for me as well, with no strange side effects.

I tried Paxil and that made me mental!

The only problem I have encountered with Xanax is that some doctors do not like to prescribe it - they prefer all the new drugs that are out now.

It works....BUT, it can cause dependancy; so best not to take it everyday to avoid this and when you do take it, in smallest possible dose.

If the small dose stops working, you are developing tolerance and this leads to trouble. But if taken as stated above, you might avoid this. There is a manual free online called the Ashton Manual which has alot of info about the benzodiazepines, although the manual mainly deals with tapering and dependancy issues but also explains actions/doses/etc of that class of drugs.

Xanax has worked wonderfully for me too....however I am dependant on it right now and slowly trying to taper. I've heard of the Ashton method, but then you need a Dr. to prescribe valium to make it work. I'm gonna try a switch-over if he gives me some, to get off xanax. Then I plan to take the xanax ONLY when need and not more then a couple times a month. The everyday stuff sucks....because my body craves it now.
