Heart Palps? - Panic Disorders Message Board

Hello,
Can anyone explain what it feels like when you have heart pals? It seems as though whenever I drink (in the last few months) it will feel like my heart is skipping and pounding. It is really hard to explain. It only happens after my first couple of drinks it goes away. The next day I may have it happen once or twice. It really freaks me out but I think that it is in my head. Has anyone ever had this happen?

Heart palpitations can cause a fluttering type of feeling in the chest. Mine are so bad it makes me cough. Many people have what's called PAC or PVC (premature atrial contraction or premature ventricle contraction). If this is what is going on it can be completely normal as long as it's not happening several times a day. It can be caused by stimulating the ventricle or atrium with things like caffiene, exercise, smoking, etc. If it's something you experience often you should be evaluated by a cardiologist to make sure that is what's going on. to dontpanic, if you are on meds, it could be a reaction between the alcahol and the meds

Heart palps is a symptom of anxiety. I've had palps for the past several months where they come and go. I've also had my heart checked because of this and everything came back normal. I wouldn't worry too much. but you should do a lil research on it if it's bothering you.

The only meds I am on is Klonopin as needed. I never drink and take my meds. Any other ideas? Maybe the alcohol is a trigger?
