Hi - please could any one who has panic attacks describe what symptoms they have, how lomg they last and does it make you feel like you may pass out?? Thank you very much.

first of all panic attacks last from 2-3 mins up to 10-15 mins... it can come back as waves in the same day.
There are too many symptoms which vary from person to person but the most common are :

-feeling of unreality
-shortness of breath(air is not enough)
-Chest pains
-Hot flushes
-Adrenaline rushes
-fast heart rate
-High Blood pressure
-Fear of dying/heart attack/pass out
etc etc etc

as for the fainting issue you mentioned...yes i believe almost all of the people that suffered one or more panic attacks have/had this feeling that they were about to faint...but they didnt faint.

well some people do faint from anxiety but it is rare. there was one time where i came very very close to fainting. one night i woke up around 4am and i was feeling an attack coming; i stood up and my heart started racing really fast. i tried to calm down but couldn't really. all of a sudden everything started getting darker and darker. it was really scary. eventually i could not see and i started saying prayers while being dragged to the car by my parents. i was still conscious so I didn't really faint.

there is one thing that i have started doing that has helped my attacks calm down a little. it is very important to eat, eat, eat.

I almost always feel like I'm going to pass out during panic attacks and with everyday anxiety. I have actually passed out three times now. Usually I am able to get somewhere and lie down so I don't faint. It's a really scary feeling. My other symptoms include:
-chest pain/pressure
-rapid pulse
-breathlessness
-numbness/tingling in hands, face, and chest
-nausua
-derealization
-dizziness
-fear of dying, heart attack, brain tumor, etc.

Hello, I feel like I am going to pass out to when I get a panic attack, almost like a really big head rush that doesn't go away. I sometimes think I have a brain tumor, heart attack, heart disease, e.t.c. it's horrible.
