CBT has been proven to be as effective as meds in treating anxiety and depression. I tried 7 meds in a 1.5 year period and nothing worked longer than a month. Found a CBT program and it worked wonders for me. First time I learned about CBT. For over 30 years I thought that meds and my psychiatrist were the only things available to help. They have their place, but CBT goes to the root of the problem in my opinion. Besides, you're smarter than to believe what you see at the movies.
