Red face if our minds...

If our minds are so powerful...how come I/we cannot overcome these attacks.
Yesterday, I was working out, lifting weights, then when I was getting ready for my run, something didn't feel right. It's hard to explain, I had no pain, no dizziness, nothing. It's like I was in a fog. I though to myself, just start running, and this will go away. It didn't. I ran about 1/4 of a mile and stopped because panic started to set in. It took me a good hour to calm down.

I don't know about you, but I'm depressed. My mind is already full of destructive thoughts that often take over the positive ones. Sometimes I'm able to get over these attacks by not concentrating on them, but more often than not I give in to my panic and start worrying about the littlest things.

you are so right that our minds are so powerfull. The mind will bring you down so fast but yet it is somtimes impossible to prevent it from making us panic.

This is the first time I've come across a forum of this nature, up until now I've felt so alone, I feel like no one understands how I feel! If I hear "it's all in your mind you just have to control it" one more time I'm gonna scream!!!!! I've been having panic attacks since the birth of my son a year ago, I was put on paxcil cr 25mg and I will admit that it has helped minimize the frequency of the attacks but they have not disappeared completely, I mean I can't get a simple headache without wondering if it's a tumor and getting nuts about it! and if the panic attacks are bad try not taking the paxcil for 2 or 3 days, withdrawals are not any better. I don't want to sound upset I just feel like I finally found somewhere that I can express how I feel and be understood!

I come here when I feel lonely and I usually am having an attack during my visit. I come here to verify that I'm only experiencing another attack, not coming down with a virus, disease, etc.
I, too, am sick of hearing from people that if I just tell myself to relax and that this is all in my head, I will get over it. I can help control it sometimes, but it's not like I have a switch up there that allows me to turn these things off. People who have never suffered from this have no clue what they're talking about.
