Talking I have LYMES DISEASE!!!!!

Hello everybody!
I got my blood test back and It was just as I thought MY lymes disease from 5 yrs ago is reactive! My Dr. screwed up and kept treating me for anxiety and panic attacks, which I have but I kept telling her something wasn't right I felt there was a underline problem. I felt so out of it, so she said she tested me back in may for the lymes when I told her my symptoms were at there peak, and now I find out she was wrong and Never tested me then. I went this week and demanded a blood test again and sure enought they called and said we are soo sorry, we have bad news your lymes is active and showed positive, you must get on medication today! OH I said I guess I am not crazy after all.. so now 4 weeks of treatment then retest. my wedding is in 2 weeks and all I keep telling myself is if she the DR. would have tested me back in may like I asked I would be closer to the road of recovery again... but no she thought I was just making these symptoms up and being to anxious! and now here I am back to fighting this horriable illness two weeks before the biggest event of my life!
see listen to your body it knows when something isn't right and push until you get answers!
For ME I will find a new Dr. now. thanks for listening I am so upset right now I needed to vent.
I will keep you posted

wow sorry to hear that. i would be very upset myself. in fact, i have always felt that my pcp has been overlooking something and is just misdiagnosing me with simply having only anxiety/panic disorder. i do feel that i have an underlying problem as well. i've switched PCPs now and can't wait to talk to the other one. Anyhow, at least you can get treated now and be on the road to recovery. I don't know much about Lymes disease. I take it, it's a very treatable illness?

Good luck with your wedding though.

Hello everyone and thank you all for your caring words and support.
actually lymeprincess I was treated about 5 years ago and after 1 1/2 years of being bed ridden My lyme count went down and had multi test done by blood specialist who claim it was in remission. I still had a lot of underline symptoms that I was told would stay with me as I know lyme never goes away. I also work for a Doctor who insisted these past few months I have my lyme count checked do to the stress of the wedding, and feeling so sick, so I asked my regular MD to do a test, after multi times her saying it was just stress and today she told me it was reactive again, and she was sorry they kept thinking stress related symptoms. So that's pretty much were I am at now. I am taking xanax at the preset time and I do feel it helps the panic and tremors. thank you for the info on finding a new doctor in the New York area I will look into that. So for right now I will try my hardest to search for better treatment.. as for the wedding I ONLY HAVE TWO WEEKS! I am wondering why the doxy dose you feel is not strong enough? my count was a 1.20 with positive reactive 23 kd IgM positive reactive 41 Kd Igm and positive lyme disease Igm, wb
maybe I should ask for a higher dose of medication? Thanks for any advice and all your resourses.

Hi Scare:

Sorry about this incident happening to you.

All I can say is DON'T allow it to ruin your wedding day.

Your panic may or may not have been caused by lyme disease.

Just do what you need to do to get better - take the meds, etc.

I can tell you story after story about what doctors have done in my past, but it will only make me anxious and I won't allow them to do that to me.
