HELP: I don't know how much longer I can be on this....
I have been on the Lexapro a total of one month. I have stayed at 7.5mg for 6 days now and I am SO tired. My appetite is almost gone. I feel just plain crappy. I am having a hard time working. I don't know how much longer I can be on this med. I am getting anxiety again and feeling panicky. The 5mg dose was tolerable, but I felt it wasn't really helping my anxiety. I haven't talked to my doctor, cause I know what he'll say... "If it's making you that tired then stop taking it!" That's just how he is. I have been on Benzos on and off for 11 years and they just don't cut it. I don't know what my game plan will be if I go off Lex. I have tried almost every other anti-depressant out there. HELP What do I do?
Do you think the Anxiety and Panic your feeling now being on the Lexapro is from you worrying how the Med is making you feel?
Ive been on many many Meds and have never had any side effects except weight gain.I did have Constipation once but was taken off the Med that caused it.
Try to relax as much as possible and go ahead and talk to your Doctor, that is why he gets paid for treating you.
Forgot to add...the 7.5 MG may be to many MG for your system...just a thought.

I was on Lexapro and it made me feel really sick. I advised my phych and she said to stop taking it immediately. If you have a doctor that you can not talk to and you do not feel is giving you the best medical attention you deserve then maybe you should find a different doctor. Is he a phych or just a family doctor. It is usually best to speak with someone who understands anxiety. Many doctors will just prescribe another medicine without actually asking how it is making you feel I think this is because they know it is not life threatening. There are so many meds out there for panic and anxiety and it may take a while to find the one that works for you. Dont take a med that makes you feel worse for an extended amount of time, it is best to try to find the one that makes you feel better and this may take time.
I have taken... Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor XR, Serzone (these made me feel jittery) Gabitril (dizzy)Remeron (tired) Ativan, Klonopin and Xanax (the benzos work) I also see a cognitive behavioral therapist and a therapist(phd)once a week.
