I need some info and feedback over here - Panic Disorders Message Board

Hi everyone its great to find a web page for people that have the same problems and can tak to each other.Ok i've been diagnosed with acute panic disorder in 1998.I'm depressed as well.Since then i've been on zoloft,prozac,celexa,and now paxil.Prozac worked well in combination with klonopin,but an old doctor took me off both and gave me celexa.Eight months into celexa i had severe depression and more panic attacks.So i was put on paxil.I was never weaned off celexa or prozac just to let you know.Ok i've been on paxil for three years and i've been up and down in doseages.Paxil made me scared of open areas as well.So my new doctor is tapering me off paxil to go on lexapro.IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS TAKEN LEXAPRO WHILE WEANING OFF PAXIL????? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.SORRY FOR LONG MESSAGE

Do a search here, there are quite a few threads on Lexapro. Seems to be the drug of choice for us right now! UGH. My trusted anti-d for 7 years failed me & I was started on Lexapro 2 weeks ago. I've had every side affect listed, nausea, diahrrea, insomnia and the worst is the insomnia, cause I think I could tolerate the others if I could get some sleep!
Others on here have had good results so hard to tell how you'll do on it, you just have to give it a try, like I am! The rotten part is that most anti-d's take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to kick in, so you have to go thru all that time only to find out that it may not work for you. This is my first med change & I was dreading the day it would happen. I have friends that have been thru it a lot more than me & I know how horrible the med changes are.

to alive, all antidepressants you mention are SSRI type and any one can be taken straight after any other.ask a pharmacist to confirm

since you seem to have done best on prozac, I suggest you insist on being put back on it, if it works well, you wont need much klonapin

No message is to long. This is wear some people get there support, and Im sure some dont have the support they need at home. But I agree if you found a combo that works for you already I would insist on being on that combo. That happens to be the one I am on right now. Generic prozac and klonopin. Im only on day nine and getting WAY better. I couldnt tolerate Zoloft or Paxil AT ALL. But if you must try Lexapro I do believe a lot of people are having success on it. Did the doctor at least slowly wean you off pf the klonopin. Beacause if they dont do that careful enough thats enough right there to through you back into panic. It doesnt give your brain enough time to start producing the natural GABA. The stuff that helps to calm you and think rattionally?
