Post Some things that have been on my mind

Having this anxiety has given me time to think (hasn't it for all of us). Well, maybe not time to think, but to give thoughts more attention in a smaller amount of time than i should.

I have some questions that i have been genuinely intrigued with when it comes to anxiety.

1)Do you tend to have more panic attacks while standing up, or sitting down?

2) Have you ever had a panic attack that was so intense, it exhilarated you instead of terrifying you?

3)Have you ever had a panic attack in a dream (not you physically, but you IN the dream) and not having felt any after effects when waking up?

4)Have you ever become so derealized that all your other symptoms have pretty much disappeared, except for the derealization?

and

5) Have you ever had an uncontrollable fit of laughter in the middle of an attack simply because of how ludicrous the situation suddenly appeared in your mind?

In my spare time (which i have a lot of) these questions have plagued me. I am wondering what all of you have to say about them.

standing or sitting should make noe difference ,xcept for when you're anxious people tend to have excess energy and feel they need to be doing something, so thats probaly why you feel more anxious sitting down(if thats you're case)?

i don't know what you mean by exilerated?

people often dream about their panick attacks in dreams, anyone can have a dream, say you had a dream of falling off a building, but woke up and you're body wasn't sore?thats other way of looking at it.

and yesss!!!!!!!! to question 4. you're body can only take so much. after awhile you're body shuts down(not literally) and it takes care of it's self, thats when you feel bewilderment,it's natural and very healthy you want you're body to this. it's a pretective mechanisim for you're body.don't be scared of it.

1)Do you tend to have more panic attacks while standing up, or sitting down?

When I was having bad attacks they almost always happened when I was standing up, maybe one or two happened when I was sitting down.

2) Have you ever had a panic attack that was so intense, it exhilarated you instead of terrifying you?

No, I was always scared to death...at least until the Doctor told me what they were, then I knew what they were so they didn't scare as much.

3)Have you ever had a panic attack in a dream (not you physically, but you IN the dream) and not having felt any after effects when waking up?

I never dreamed about my attacks or dreamed I was having one.

4)Have you ever become so derealized that all your other symptoms have pretty much disappeared, except for the derealization?

No, I actually don't remember having derealization and my other symptoms at the same time.
Probably the only time that happened was the first time I had an attack.
I usually either had the other symptoms or the derealization, but not at the same time.

and

5) Have you ever had an uncontrollable fit of laughter in the middle of an attack simply because of how ludicrous the situation suddenly appeared in your mind?

Oh yeah, I used to do that all the time.
One second I'd be having an attack and the next I'd be laughing, but I had no idea what I was laughing at.

My panic usually starts way more when I am sitting, but then I stand and pace after it starts, I havent had any of the other things happen yet.

its suspected that some come to enjoy their panic attacks, as the panicky feelings are basicly the same as those coming from dangerius sports, or bungee jumping, parachuting, etc

these people often refuse to make any attempt to recover or to take meds

some admit their panicky feelings, adrenalin surges, etc give them more energy and sharpen their minds

derealisation can happen just by itself
