Post Panic Attacks and Genetics

This is my first time here.I have panic disorders that are genetically caused. Is there any hope of ever recovering completely from this?
I hate the feeling of being scared all the time and look forward to any advice.

There is a 100% possibility of recovering from panic attacks. I had panic attacks in the past and haven't had one for about 3 years. It's scary at first but there will come a time when you will look back and laugh at panic straight in the face. I was terrified when I had my first attacks. I thought the world was going to end for me. I was scared of any type of body symptom and scared to go out in public (fear of having a panic attack in public). Just remember IT CAN'T HURT YOU. No one has ever died from a panic attack. It's just an awful feeling when it happens but REMEMBER it always passes. It has to. A panic attack is nothing more than a release of adrenalin into your body. IT'S A NATURAL REACTION BY YOUR BODY. The only problem is that it happens at the wrong time. If it happened before a car accident it would be O.K.. It's just your body's way of protecting itself. When it happens for no reason (like just standing) it scares everyone to death. The more you fear panic attacks the stronger they become. REMEMBER YOU FEED THE PANIC ATTACK by being afraid of it. The next time a panic attack happens try your best not to be afraid of it. It will take practice but like anything you can master not being afraid of it. Take deep breaths through your nose and out through mouth until it passes. When you master not being afraid of the panic attacks they will weaken and slowly dissappear.

Also stay away from anything with caffeine and refined sugar (junk food). These also cause your body to release adrenaline thus causing panic attacks.

Exercising is great also because it increases the seratonin in your body. They say that people will lower seratonin levels are more prone to panic. Exercise raises the seratonin in your body NATURALLY. No drugs.

Believe me I'm totally recovered from panic attacks and you can be too. Educate yourself on why these panic attacks happen and do what you are suppose to do and you will get your life back.

Nick

Who told you that your panic attacks are genetically caused, that is just a theory that some have. Anxiety can be passed down from family members by LEARNED behavior. Like being around someone silly can make you start acting silly. Right now I am on meds because I feel I need them temporarily as a bridge to get myself better. I agree with the above absolutely yes 100% you can get over this if you learn not to be scared of the symptoms anxiety tries to play with you with.

im not scared of my panic attacks. I didn’t go rushing to the hospital thinking i was having a heart attack or a stroke on my first PA. Although it was very scary!!!
I knew it wasn’t anything life threatening deep down. Im not scared of the attacks, im scared at why/cause of the attacks. When you read and hear things on TV by people who have cracked up and been sectioned and they mention "its first started with panic attacks", well its that kinda thing that scares me. like its the begging of some terrible mental illness or breakdown.

Plus u see all these statistics (mainly from usa sources) saying 17% of PA sufferers will try and take their own lives.

These are my phobias
not the Panic itself
