I am seriously considering asking my doctor to prescribe me another medicine for my depression and panic disorder
I have been taking 25 mg of Sertraline (generic Zoloft) for nearly 10 days and I don't feel like myself on it. Lack of motivation, no libido and no appetite are the side effects I'm dealing with.
At this point, I'm not sure what to do. I just can't tolerate the side affects.

I was taking generic Prozac and felt kind of similar. At first I totally did NOT feel that way, so I thought it was odd that I felt that my side effects got worse with time. Usually I hear the opposite! I think that I was not getting as good quality sleep, so I just kept getting more and more tired, and feeling depressed from being so tired and unmotivated. When I'm exhausted, I feel pretty useless. It's too bad because at first I was so happy and felt great on generic Prozac.
Sometimes it's so hard to find the right medication. I feel like some just make you feel a bit cloudy, so yes, in a way you feel more calm and less panicked/anxious, but it's almost just masking the problem. I am very interested in a medication that does NOT have sleepiness/tiredness as a common side effect, but for anxiety/panic disorders, this is hard to find!
I felt lethargic on Celexa and my heart raced while on Lexapro. Prozac used to work wonders for me, but when trying it again (after years), it put me in the ER. It definitely is hard to find the right med and I know you may be sick of hearing it, but it's so different for each person! The good news is, so I hear, side effects *should* dissipate after about 6 weeks.
I'm suppose to start Zoloft. I have like a 6 month supply and I'm terrified to start a new med, since I've had so many problems with them. My mom always tells me "This could be the one to change your life. Why not give it a shot?" Easier said than done, right? :/
