Teen Pulling Away?

I have been a father figure/mentor to a kid since he was 9 years old. He is now 16, turning 17 in a few months. Anyways, we always talked a lot and spent a lot of time hanging out and doing fun stuff. It seems now that he doesn't want me around anymore and doesn't talk to me much anymore? I also financially help this kid big time. Any suggestions or is this just normal teen behavior? I don't live with him so I barely see him anymore. Thanks

Re: Teen Pulling Away?

I am going through the same thing with my daughter who will turn 16. We were having fun and now she has no time for me all of the sudden. It must be a teen thing.
