I was curious as to know what your feeding routine is with your babies. I mean like how many oz. of milk is your baby consuming at one time and how long apart? Do you give solids , if so do you give it with their bottles or wait a while and what are you giving them and how much. I would like some input, new mom here. thanks.

Not recently new but what worked for me and my daughter(2000) was 4 oz every two and a half hours --she never cried... it is called being/using proactive parenting instead of reactive parenting ( reactive causes too much stress for all parties involved in the household). I didn't sleep much for two years but hey it is worth it and I would do it again. mind you that was my role and job. Keep the boss happy and keep juggling you can do it.
i am feeing autumn (who is 5 mo 2wks) mostly just formula because the juice and solids (i think) caused a yeast infection (from all the sugar which yeast feeds on)
so i am doing between 40- 50 oz a day now...because the docs want her to gain more weight...but i give about 6-8 oz every few hours...except for at night because she get totally mad if i wake her up...lol she likes her sleepy
My 5 month old drinks 4 - 5 oz now every 3 hours except at night its 5 -6 hours. I also just started feeding her rice cereal a few days ago when she turned 5 months. I mix about a tablespoon with a little bit of formula. She seems to be enjoying it. I've read that its not good to put solids in the bottles.
Does anyone know how many times a day I should give her the cereal? I'm only feeding her the cereal once a day. And when can I start baby food or mixed cereal? I read it somewhere back when she couldn't eat solids yet and have since forgotten.
Hi All! I have an 8 month old and i can't remember how much sge ate at 5 mos but i do know the Dr. said to NOT start her on solids until 6 mos. She is currently eating an 8 oz bottle every 4-5 hours, plus she gets one jar of baby food around 12:30 and one again for dinner around 6:00, then she has a bottle before bed around 8:00. SHe is currently 18 pounds and 26 inches. She is growing like a weed! Have a great day!
P.S. Cereal is fine at 4 or 5 months! I mean jar food.

my 5 month old eats about every 2 1/2- 3 hours during the day, and wakes up atleast once at night to nurse. i have no idea how much he takes in at each feeding but i think he eats somewhere around 34 - 40oz of bmilk a day. i haven't given him solids yet. i'm very pro for waiting until about 7 or 8 months until giving them solids since it helps reduce the amount of food allergies, etc they might develop. he's doing just fine, weighed in at almost 18lbs. at his last dr. check up.
i also have a two year old, i waited until almost 8 months to give him food since he refused the rice cereal when he was about 5 1/2 months old. we just went to straight food then, and i would grind it up in a baby mill.
i've heard you're not supposed to give a baby 'solids' in their bottle, i think because it helps promote tooth decay, i could be wrong there though.

leyahsmom, the dr. told me to give my baby 1/4 cup of cereal mixed with about 2 oz. of formula and give at least once a day increasing to 2 or 3 times a day. Wait until 6 mths. to start solids.
