Potty Training breakthrough

About a year ago my Pediatrician assured me that my son was fine and might be a little late with potty training but not to worry. She said she had never seen a child who didnt have medical issues start Kindergarten in diapers. He will be 4 in October and is still in Pull Ups so I really thought he would be the one who broke her record!!LOL

Well, he has taken it upon himself to start training. Stickers and candy didn't do it as he was not impressed with things like that. He finally just decided it was time. I can also say that he never sat on the potty to go on his own. I would have him sit and try when I was really working on the potty bit but he didn't do it on his own at all.

The past few days he has been going in and raising the lid to go. He is also going #2 in the potty. I guess they all truly do have their own time frame. It looks like none of my kids will start Kindergarten in diapers... Can you hear the sigh of relief

Re: Potty Training breakthrough

Hooray, Mommyof4! That's the way it happened with my 2 older kids also, and I plan to use the same strategy on my 2 younger kids. Such a relief, isn't it?
