Red face my six year daugther was caught fighting in girls restroom

Hello. First all of let me state this, I'm a single parent of a 6yr daughter. We live alone. Here my story. I received a call from the principal office today. It seem my 6yr daughter push another little girl against the wall. I do admit that BG (daughter) is has always been overly senitive when someone makes fun at her or picks on her. In my(our) defense BG has always been in daycare and has had to learn to defense her against the bigger afterschoolers. Now in elementary she is the shortest one from her 1st grade class and running into the same problems.
She has gotten good at handing the bigger kids at the afterschool daycare that now sometimes she bossy. Other times when she would lash out back at kids I would tell her to ignore the kid or tell the teacher. She has told me before that the teachers ignore her and her just tell to behave. I have been meaning to call these teachers and ask them what going on.
I don't know the whole story yet. I have a conference with the teacher and principal later today. Should she keeping doing this (lashing out) she have inschool supension. How should I handle this. I have talk to her, taken favorite items, and spank her, what next?

Re: my six year daugther was caught fighting in girls restroom

Isn't it great how we (parents) tell our kids to ignore or to go to an adult and then the very time they do at school it is ignored or they get into trouble for tattle tales.

I wouldn't encourage her to handle it on her own, but this is what I told my son.

Go to a teacher, if nothing is done, go to a different teacher, if nothing is done, tell the child " I do not want to fight, but if you continue to pick on me, I WILL"
THEN and ONLY then IF the child gets picked on again, your child has ever right to DEFEND themselves...
We send out children to school and EXPECT that they will be protected. If the teachers do not want to protect MY children will protect themselves...
HOWEVER, name calling is not a reason to defend... Name calling will be their whole life and something they need to learn to DEAL with.
My children have learned that if you walk away, act like no big deal (showing no upset emotions) then whoever is calling names gets bored and moves on to someone else...
IF your child is the BULLY then you need to put a stop to it ASAP...
Sometimes children (no matter how big or small) if once a victim of bullies, becomes a bully to avoid it being done to them...

Get all the details of what actually happened before you decide what to do.
Oh and don't worry... She is only 6... Good luck
