Ok, I need tips on getting my 17 month old to eat veggies. He LOVED them as a baby, but once he moved out of baby food he won't eat them. And he won't eat the baby stuff now either. He eats plenty of fruit, so I'm not too worried about his nutrition, but I feel bad. The only way he gets veggies is through tomato sauce on pasta, sometimes he'll eat corn (which isn't really a veggie in my opinion) and sometimes he'll eat a few pieces if it's in soup. But I'd like to try and get some in twice a day. Now its more like 2-3 times a week! Yikkees
It's probably just a stage, my daughter went through it about the same age. As long as he's eating other healthy stuff (cheese, eggs, yogurt, fruit etc) I wouldn't be too concerned. You can always try blending extra veggies into the pasta sauce to increase the veggies...if his diet otherwise isn't as balanced as you like maybe try a toddler multi vitamin...my sister recently came to stay with us and because my daughters appetite was small she experimented and found we could get her to finish her meals by bribing her with something she liked, have a bite of supper, get a bite of watermelon, my daughters appetite has definately increased and she finishes the majority of her meals now.
I'm sure it is just a stage, but you could try adding something she likes to it. Veggies and chees is always yummy. Or dipping in ranch, however the ranch might just get licked off. LOL I'm sure it will pass in time
The only veggie my son would eat at that age was peas and the only way he would eat them was frozen straight from the freezer. He loved them because they were cold and different. Give it a shot!
