Question Not certain if this is the right spot for this but i have a ?

Im not a parent yet. Im not even married yet, but I am engaged.

My question is, I have one of my nipples pierced, and when it comes down to the day that I have a baby, will this piercing have any effect on breast feeding?

I know its kinda early to ask, but my mom and I were discussing it tonight and I wasnt sure what to say? I assumed it'd still be workable as long as I take the hoop out ya know?

Any other ladies out there w/the same thing? that have gone through it? let me know! thanks! ~Dream~

I took mine out when I first found out I was pregnant cause I was going to try and breastfeed. Everything worked fine! I was kinda of afraid that it would shoot out in 3 different places but it didn't.

The only thing i've heard of is that because of the scar tissue around the periecing it will block some ducts. I'm not sure if that puts you at increased risk for blocked ducts, mastitis (infection in the breast/milk ducts) or they simply dry up.

You can keep the piercings in during pregnancy. It won't have any effect on breastfeeding, but you have to take the hoop out each time you nurse because if it came loose it could cause a choking hazard, but you can put the hoop right back in afterwards. I had no problem with mine, and I had both pierced.
