depressive thoughts about college killings

I happened to work with few people whoes kids in VA tech and one could of go there. Luckely none of them are hurt. Since I have the only daughter, I was depressed with thoughts what if? I wonder how people deal with it.

Try to deal with 'what is', rather than 'what ifs'. What ifs cause no end of distress. I also think it could be a ptsd symptom. (I know you post on that board). Horrific incidences, including what you have just mentioned, affect me, although I am thousands of miles from it and know none of them.

Re: depressive thoughts about college killings

I can understand, but I see people with VA tech sweatshirts everyday on metro. Each time it is a trigger of my having sad thoughts.
