My 6 week old son seems to be constantly in pain after eating. We called the Dr and he told us to switch from Enfamil Lipil with iron to Goodstart Soy which is lactose and milk free. The first feeding went well and he didn't cry after eating. However, the second feeding went well, at first, then about 30- to 45 minutes later he started screaming. He would scream for a bit, then stop, look like he was ok and then do it over and over. We gave him water and finally my husband got two more burps from him. We also gave him baby anti-gas medication. What else can we do to spare him from painful gas?

I used Gripe water with my baby....seemed to help his tummy. I also moved his legs like a bicycle. Helped get the gas out.

Whats Gripe water? where can I get some? I move his legs up, down, any which way to help alleviate the gas.

Sure! I found it at Babies R Us. It tastes a little like black licorice. My sister said to lift up his legs with his knees bent and push them gently towards the tummy. Supposed to take gas pressure away. Poor little guy!
Do you think its colic??? I know some people would be way against it but chiropracters are supposed to be great helps for colic. I've been taking my kids for about a year now and they love going. He just holds them and moves them around....its not like the cracking adults get. Just a thought. Good luck!

My youngest was the same way. It's so hard to see them in such pain.

I used the gripe water too and it did make a difference. I also used the goodstart formula, but I didn't use the soy kind. I found the soy upset her stomach more so.
