he is a good kid for the most part but having 4 already i dont think i can handle him living here anymore! he isnt rude or does anything in particular thats bad i just find it annoying and feel its disrupted our house...for example the kids have been battling stomach flu i told them all to keep washing their hands, he laughs it off and says oh i am always cleaning them and sure enough last night he is being sick but decides to throw up in the downstairs toilet and do #2 in the upstairs like had no common sense and now has possibly infected the entire house! i dont want to catch it! we would go through a loaf of bread every 2 days now its 2 a day cause this kid cant just eat like the others do...i buy sandwhich meat that last 2 weeks, its gone in 3 days,he takes 20 minute showers which ive told him several times to cut down on and he tells me he needs to use 3 different body washes before he feels fully clean!! i mean come on now!!! the problem is this, his dad is an abusive drug user and his mom left him he doesnt have anywhere else to go but i am starting to think its not my problem anymore!! if i wanted 5 kids i wouldve told my husband not to get a vasectomy! i just dont know what to do i know sitting down and talking to him wont change anything at all so thats not an option, we have tried that...i am thinking we give him until the end of january to find somewhere else and then we are done with it....

Firstly, how old is he? If he is a minor, then you should get child welfare (or whatever you have there) involved. They need to be notified if there is a neglected child. If you are fostering the child, then they need to coordinate this. Get in touch with the appropriate agency. If he is older, then your plan sounds good. Give him notice that he must find a new place.

this boy is 17 and where we are he is allowed to live wherever he needs too and getting social services involved does nothing but might stick him in foster care which he doesnt need to be in at all! i am coping with him being here for now i guess have 5 kids in the house all teens i may add is a bit stressful he isnt bad at all and listens all the time i just feel like i am a constant babysitter

Calm down with the sickness. You will only get sick if your immune system is not strong and you can build up your immune system naturally. You are exposed to much more every time you go to a store. Find out if he has any other family.

Hi there,,,bless your heart for taking this boy in when life has dealt him such a poor hand of cards.

My suggestion would be to suggest that this boy get a job. I would suggest it as not only something to keep him busy but also as a way in which he can contribute to the household.

I would insist that he give you half and that the other half go into a savings account which could be something he could use towards future accommodations.

Also....perhaps contacting the church to see what they might suggest in terms of helping this boy out may be worthwhile as well.
