I can't believe I am going to write this post! If you've read my other posts then you know I have 5 kids. Girl- almost 12, boy- almost 9, girl-7, girl-6 and boy- almost 3.
So the topic, of course, is my son, the almost 3 year old (who thinks he's about 5!). He was such a GOOD baby and then things changed around 9 - 12 months ago. Things just got increasingly worse, He CAN be the sweetest little boy, adorable, loving, sweet, snuggly, you get the idea. BUT he's in between the terrible 2's and trying 3's - defiant, mouthy (he speaks well), oppositional, wants his own way or else - big temper tantrums (not just the lying on the floor kind, He'll cry, yell, swat at you, kick, pinch, dig his nails in you, run around in his fit, knock thing over, throw things, etc... I've spanked him, swatted his mouth for bad language ex: "f--- y-- mommy" (he picked that up at daycare from a girl from a not so good household), mostly I do time outs with him but he won't just stay in time out! I have to hold him down (which I hate having to do) while he cries, tells me off (calls me baby la-la,etc) tries to kick, hit, bite, scratch, etc, until he finally calms down (somewhere between 5-10 minutes) and then I make him sit there for about 5 minutes. I then go to him discuss with him what got him in time out in the first place. He becomes appologetic,sweet, loving and nice again - but not for long!
I have gone through the terrible 2's and trying 3's x 4 kids already but he's the worst one so far! I'm getting to the point where I don't know what to do about it. He acts up at daycare also but not as extreme as at home. My other 4 went to daycare also and they were for the most part well behaved at daycare and saved their bad behavior for home. The educator he has also had my other 4 and I KNOW she is a good educator, so I don't think there is any problem with that and he loves going there and playing with his friends (there are 8 kids in his group including him)
HELP, I need suggestions, advice, anything to give me some hope that it will improve instead of get worse. I still can't believe after getting through this with 4 other kids I'm having sooooo much trouble with the 5th!
