A child (or adult) can be angry for many reasons. I have spent my entire life angry and i hate it and don't wish it on anyone. Chronic anger can be a sign of depression/bipolar disorder, etc or it can be a response to something that is going on in their life. I am reading a book right now that has really helped me deal with my children, it's called "The Explosive Child" by Ross W Green. One of the best things it has helped me realize is that children have a limited ability to respond to things going on around them. They don't have the mental knowledge or training yet to handle all the stress they have, so they basically shut down or yell or get angry.
