Hi, I was wondering, if my Grandfather had Parkinson's Disease could he become a champion knitter. My Grandfather could knit at a level that is unbelieveable. He would use fine, fine thread and knit flowers of all things and he knitted until he died. He could knit anything, and did.

I was talking to my relatives, my grandfather had to stop working at 56 because he had "Parkinson's Disease". But it seems to me that if he had PD he would never have been able to knit at the level he did.

Also is numbness a symptom of Parkinson's?

This was what my family sent me about an article that was written in 1949. Carl is my Grandfather, does this sound like Parkinson's Disease:

He had Parkinson's Disease.......... I checked my folder I have on them and came across an article that reads, "It was in 1949 that the Ruthven theater burned, and Carl was called in to help in the construction of the building. But as he worked, he sensed something was wrong. There seemed to be periodic numbness of his legs and back, and a loss of the sense of balance which was distressing to a man who liked to climb rafters and move about at will". In 1949 he would of been 56 years old.......
