parkinsons disease

has any body had a cardiac mibg (nuclear med) scan done for the diagnoses of pd and if so do you know how reliable it is in diagnosing. Why i ask is i have pd symptoms and on levodopa which is helping my symptoms but i have just had the above test and it came back normal, does this mean i dont have pd??????? now i am so confused and frustrated as my symptoms are real.

Re: parkinsons disease

Hi,
One use of Cardiac mibg is in the differential diagnoais of PD and multiple systems (MSA).
There are several types of MSA,s as Shy-drager syndrome, striatonigral degeneration, etc.)
Cardiac mibg may be (I really don't know for sure) more valuable than an MRI scan.
Sinemet can help many types of MSA, usually in the early stages.

Tke care
