choking sensations - Parkinson's Disease Message Board

i need help! does anyone that has been diagnosed with pd have symptoms of choking? i constantly feel like my throat is swelling shut. not on pd meds yet except requip small pm dose. dr appt not for 3 more weeks new symptom since last md visit. has been going on for several weeks. thanks

Swallowing difficulties are part of the picture I think. Also one of the threats to health is that a swallowing difficulty can turn into choking. You'll do much better when you get on medication I think. Good luck to you

I had this when I was first diagnosed. Almost drove myself to the ER it was so bad a few times (when I was driving). Neurologist wrote it off to panic attack over dealing with the diagnosis and frankly just "realizing that" (if it was true) seemed to make things better.
