Post swimming mystery

Just returned from a beach trip and discovered that while swimming all my symptoms of PD vanish completely!
Strange, i know, but true...can anyone out there explain this phenomenon?
I'm sure it has something to do with gravity and buoyancy...needless to say, i'll be in the nearest pool on a regular basis!
Anyone else experience this? If not, try it!!!!!!!!!!

Cool

Ziggy,
I'm with you. I went swimming at the Jersey shore this past weekend. Nothing like a swim in the ocean to help you forget PD.

Cool

Ziggy,

Just be careful in case the symnptoms do return that you are not out too far where you get in trouble. I do think the bouyancy of the water is something to be considered, but the rigidity and the muscle cramps could occur at any time.

Maybe a pool???

Swimming and walking are the two most-approved exercises for PDers. I do deep-water aerobics 3 early mornings a week, for the PD, as well as the osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia diagnoses. I really miss just being able to swim laps, either front or back, but my knees won't take it anymore. But, after 3 years of some type of swimming, I firmly state that while in the water, it seems the motion of the water makes me forget the tremors, plus no one else can see them. And, as a very short lady in our group says, when in the water, everyone is the same height!! Oh, water, the kindest medium. Lory
