By now most of you know me. I have many of the signs of Parkinson's, and take Sinemet (Generic) to control tremors, but my neurologist at this time is not prepared to diagnose me with Parkinson's. SOME of the signs, are not evident.
If I don't have Parkinson's, then it's likely Fibromyalgia and another unidentified problem.
As I go back and forth, reading symptoms from other people with Parkinson's or Fibromyalgia, I find myself saying "This has to be Parkinson's, no it's Fibromyalgia, no it's definitely Parkinson's, or maybe it IS Fibromyalgia."
So I have some questions for you, and this could be very helpful to me in understanding the scope of what I am dealing with here.
Does anyone here get numbness in their hands and feet?
Do you sometimes feel feverish?
Do you ever feel like you have a sunburn(when you don't actually have a sunburn)?
Do you ever get a skin crawling feeling?
Someone also mentioned to me that vivid dreams is a symptom they have, IS this one of the symptoms in Parkinson's?
One of the key indicators is stiffness, but, I don't hear much about joint and muscle pains. I get horrible joint and muscle pains. Do most of you get bad joint and muscle pains?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Listing your symptoms would be very helpful, if you would be so kind.
Most of what I have read about Parkinson's does not go into depth about symptoms, except for the most common symptoms. Any further details about other symptoms would truly be appreciated.
I have to take control for the help I get, and having a better idea of what exactly this is, will make a big difference in how I can approach this and what doctors I need to see.
Thank you all so much for your help.
Sincerely,
Caring

Darn, I had this really good message to send you all typed out, hit the wrong key and lsot it. Basically, what I said was to get a referal from your neuro to an MDS center. There are so many symptoms that can overlap, and they see them all. I have fibro, and the pain can be bad unless I stay on my med routine for that, as well as meds for PD, AND do my excercises religiously. My pain and stiffness are part of both diseases, but is most evident when i walk, the right arm, which is the only involved side of my PD at this time, does not move. That is called akinesia, or no mov't. It's a blessing, because that same shoulder joint has degnerative osteoarthritis, so excess movement can lead to pain. Well, it's 6 of one, half dozen of another. Do see an MDS, we're all true believers. Lory
Yes, I get numbness in my hands and feet, skin crawling sensations, and also vivid dreams. In fact, the dreams were so vivid I was acting out my dreams and beating up my husband!! They gave me clonazepam (Klonopin) for this and it has really helped.
I recently had the DBS-STN surgery and it alleviated a lot of the symptoms, but the dreams are still there, although not quite as vivid or aggressive. Usually I just talk in my sleep.
You know, it's possible that you have both Parkinson's AND fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, sometimes life gives us combinations of things that are equally disastrous. I don't think it's fair. One disease for each person is enough!!
Thank you Lory, Pelicangirl. I would love to hear from others, if anyone else would like to share.
Wow Pelicangirl, your poor husband. I haven't taken to beating my husband up yet, but I have been getting superhero dreams and swirling colors or exotic colorful animal dreams.
Sounds like we are very much alike. Yes, it is possible I may have two things, maybe even more, going on. Soon, I will know more...I've got a cluster of doctor visits over the next two weeks.
Will let you know what I find out.
Take care now, and I would love to hear from more of you about your symptoms. Thank you all for everything.
Sincerely,
Caring
Hi Caring,
My symptoms are terrible muscle pain in my shoulders, arms and legs, resting tremor and some action tremor, fatigue and slow movement, slowed thinking, and I have a small problem with balance(stumble). I have not fallen yet, thank God. I think I covered it all. Take care.
Love to all,
Mona
