I'm having a problem with urination...too much of it!
I go often, sometimes within minutes of the last one.
Most times it feels like my bladder is always full...
Is this characteristic of PD? I've been checked negative for prostate problems.
Would like some PD'ers input ???

Yes, Ziggy, it is a problem. I am a 57 year old female and it still happens even after I have had the DBS surgery. I too don't empty my bladder. They found that out on an ultrasound they did in the hospital. I felt lke that is what was happening. They wanted me learn to self-catheritize myself, but I declined LOL. I just try to go a little bit more than I think I can. Even that doesn't work all the time.

I have the same problem and in men it is usually caused by an inlarged prostate. It is called BPH. benign prostatic hyperplasia. the When the prostate gets larger, it chokes off the ureter causing retention of urine.

I was taking Cardura, but stoped taking it when their was a warning in the news not to take it. Their are about 3-4 drugs in this class, one is Hytrin, and the have a common side effect that when you stand up from a sitting position, you might experience a sudden drop in blood pressure which makes you dizzy, lightheaded or fainting. It got to where I felt the symptoms every time I stood up,

One drug that does not have this side effect is Flomax.I tried to get a prescription today and the doctor expected me to make an appointment. I didn't think that was necessary, so I decided to do without it.

Frequent and urgent urination occur in Parkinson's disease as a result of bladder overactivity. This is probably a direct consequence of Parkinson's disease. Prostate enlargement may also contribute to urinary symptoms, but, obviously, this is not a factor for women. Bladder overactivity may be improved by medications such as Detrol. All medications can have side effects. Detrol may cause some dryness of mouth, among other things. Men with enlarged prostates must be cautious with the use of Detrol and similar medications.
