I just received a message from the Medtronic rep, telling me the microelectrode recording system was not used during my surgery. (An audible signal is heard when they hit the target.) My neuro told me, if this system was not used,the elecrodes are more likely to be mislocated)

Learn from my mistake and go to a medcal center that has a lot of experience with this surgery.

Hi Bruce,

I don't quite know how to say this, but I think you were in such a hurry to have the implants done, that you settled for an inferior doctor (maybe not inferior in other ailments, but inexperienced in implantation surgery). This just shows the saying of all good things come to those who wait is right. I admit I didn't have to wait as long as you for my surgery and didn't have to go through as much, and maybe I would have been impatient too, but I think checking out your doctor and how many he/she has done is a good thing.

Good luck on your future surgery at KU.

Ruth, you are absolutely right. The care at the hospital wasn't to great either.
