Good morning. First I want to thank Ruth for directing me here THANKS Ruth!
My name is Marcie and I am 37 years old. I was diagnosed with PD on 11/2/01 after 2 years of symptoms and numerous doctors.
I currently take 3mg 3x day of Requip. It has really kicked in the last few days. I am walking much better and am actually typing with my right hand-major improvement there! Now if I could only sleep better...
I look forward to getting to know all of you and learn more about PD.
Your story sounds similar to mine. I am 37 and I was diagnosed in November 01 also. I am currently just starting on requip but it is too early too tell the results.
Welcome to the board.
Todd

I'm glad you found this board and I'm sure you will learn a lot here. I think it's 100% better than the other one, which isn't going to be there anyway.
Marcie,
Hi!.... I was diagnosed a few years ago at 42. It seems these days there are more and more younger people being diagnosed with PD.
It may take a litle trial and error with the meds before you find the right combination, but eventually you will. They can be a big help. I've been on the same meds for about a year now with pretty consistent daily relief. Nights......Well that's another matter.
I've been working on the insomnia thing for awhile now. If you find something let me know. I'll do likewise.
GOOD LUCK....and if you start feeling a little overwhelmed by all the PD info that friends & family are giving you, just put it aside and do something else. You can even come here and vent....there's good people here.
