Medications and parkinson like symptoms - Parkinson's Disease Message Board

Can anyone tell me if certain medications can cause parkinson like symptoms?? I take daily 1mg xanax, zocor 20mg, Toprol XL 25mg, and isosorbide 15 mg. I have noticed over the years that I have a slight shaking of my head. It seems to be getting a little worse, especially if I am nervous.. Can my medicines be causing this? Thank you. Laura

I looked up all of the drugs you are taking, and none of them are known to cause pd symptoms.

Zocor: it is a cholesterol reducing drug and i take a similar drug Lipitor. You should have liver function tests done once a month.

Xanax: a potent ant anxiety drug. It could make you sleepy.

Toprol: used to treat hypertension. Affects the circulatory system.

Isosorbide: A heart drug.
