Can Parkinson's cause weak voice

Hi

My dad has high blood pressure but also he has onset of weak limbs and difficulty getting up by himself. When he does stand up, his legs will march (both sides) initially upon standing. His voice has also become soft/weak. Are these signs of parkinson's. He doesn't tremble at rest. He is 74.

Re: Can Parkinson's cause weak voice

Yes these can be symptoms...BUT....you MUST see a neurologist for a proper diagnosis as these can be symptoms of many other things instead. Either way, singing your favorite songs with a loud full voice is great therapy and may also help to prevent aspiration pneumonia
