Hi, I need some information/help.

So my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's about a year or so ago. He's had it for longer, but the doctors didn't know until they sent him to a neurologist. He's 44 and has recently been suffering from, what he describes as, muscle pains in both his left arm and his left leg.
Now he has multiple health issues, so we're assuming it's either his Parkinson's or his heart problems (as that mainly affects the left side of your body). What I'm wondering is, has anybody here with Parkinson's had these pains before, and if so have they been treated somehow to make the pain stop? He cannot stand the pain, and it's making it hard for him to work, so he spoke to a nurse this morning and his neurologist last week I believe, who's quite the doddering old soul, and couldn't think of anything to help with the pain.
I thought it would be a better idea to talk to and ask people who have the same issue or have known someone who has had the same issue.
Thank you if you can help.

Re: Hi, I need some information/help.

I had pain in my right arm, then down my right leg. 1ST neurologist couldnt figure out what's wrong with me. He was convinced it was coming from my spine. He prescribed me vicodin for the pain. It helped a little. This went on for 7 months. Went for a 2nd opinion, 2nd neurologist. Immediately gave me a diagnosis after 45 minutes. ...Parkinson's. Took me off vicodin and gave me sinemet. He sent me to see a specialist, 3rd neurologist for further evaluation...confirmed its definitely Parkinson's. This neurologist took me off sinemet and put me on Mirapex..I have no more pain. But when stressed my tremors are more noticable. The pain is from the stiffness (ridgity).

Re: Hi, I need some information/help.

I assumed that with was due to stiffness of some sort since my dark (even before he had Parkinsons) did pretty much nothing and just sits down when he's at home and he also has a job which causes him to be sitting down all day too.
Thank you
