Hi i am 19 years old and i have been told that i am a pathological lier. I have been noticing that i do lie about things i dont even need to lie about i lie alot and i am tierd of lying it is getting me into to much trouble. And i recently just had a baby 4 months ago and i dont want to keep lying. I know i have a problem and i need your guys help to tell me what i need to do to get rid of this problem please if you have any advice help me out.

Thats so great you are looking at the fact and being honest with yourself that you are lying, and that its become a problem. Thats a huge step that you are looking at this honestly and sincerely, thats a huge step to be very proud of. Have you considered talking to a counselor or therapist that you feel comfortable with? That may be your next step. Good luck and let us all know how its going for you!! Yeah, you are being honest!! Gotta pat yourself on the back for that, and know you are heading in the right direction for change.

Hi Nikki, You are very young and very brave. You want to get to an Adult Child of Alcoholic (ACoA) or Al-Anon group meeting and--when you can--you want to start seeing a PhD psychologist for psychotherapy. Go to the library and do a subject search for books on ACoA so you can read the books. You can also search on the web. I am too new here to know if I can post urls for you.
