Does anyone have schizotypal personality disorder? - Personality Disorder Message Board

Besides me! I've been diagnosed w/ it, but I don't think that I meet all of the criteria. I think that schizoid personailty disorder is closer to what I'm experiencing, but I am really eccentric.

I'm just wondering whether anyone has any experience w/ this. I really like the fact that I'm different from everyone; I think differently, which I like. Sometimes, though, my thinking and behavior causes some trouble w/ my relationships. Some (very, very few) people think I'm fun to be around, but mostly everyone thinks that I'm immature.

I don't want to be less eccentric, but I do want to have a "normal" life: a career, eventually having a family and kids, having friends.

I'm actually with you on this one. I found out about it a year ago. A few people call me eccentric most just say I'm odd.

What I hate is how sometimes I can act normal at work one day and the next I'm annoying people with my crazy antics when I told myself that I was going to act normal, I can't help it. My boyfriend on the other hand sees me as normal, I really force myself. It's really hard.

I wonder if I do. I believe heavily in the metaphysical.....astrology, tarot, crystals and gemstones, spirits, etc......
I'm superstisious too.
they say this is "magical thinking".....

I fit some of the symptoms, but not all of them. Also some of schizoid. I started a seperate thread and hope to get some replies and different opinions.
