Re: has ANYONE found relief with meds
I am called 'compensated BPD', among a host of other Dx's as well.
I am affectd by BPD symptoms 24/7, but do not act on these impulses, although I sometimes feel that I could due to feeling just so horrible at the time.
Last year I hit a period of serious decline, found myself sitting infront of the 'lady shrink' again, and now take an interesting mix of pharmaceuticals that are enabling me to function at least at 70% to about 80% on most days. Some days are still awful, and functioning goes below 50%, other days I'm wondering what all the fuss is about and functiioning at about 85%, but very very rarely does functioning exceed 85%.
So in this case the medications have helped me to function at a time when things were looking pretty shabby, and everytime I try and reduce meds, symptoms get much much worse.
Good luck with the meds if you decide to proceed. I'd have to advise locating a really great 'shrink' as they seem to have indepth knowledge of pharmaceuticals much much more than general practitioners (GP's).
