I have few questions. Is phobia with insects or other things or certain places has something to do with CP? And how to overcome this situation? It's very troublesome sometimes. And how about being angry or frustrated about one self? Are there any solutions that might help me solve this. Thanks.
With CP causing more nervousness in some people, I'm sure it can aggravate phobias... Exercise of any kind can lessen tense nerves, so it might even help your condition and frustration
My son with CP has phobias as well and insects is the primary one . Not sure what the connection might be but I attributed it to his spending time with his nervous grandmother who does not like insects! He seems to put more weight on the opinions and perceptions of others than my other children do, but I understand that phobias can be taught. Children read phobias in the body language of the adults they are around so you don't have to tell them when you are fearful -- and if big adults are scared, welll.....
Education and understanding how insects and other creatures like spiders serve man and interact with nature, would do well in eliminating the phobias associated with them. As for the fear of flying, close spaces or heights can be overcome by facing these fears... I have terrible balance but if I can hang on to something solid I can do almost anything and go almost anywhere. I went parasailing in Key West, Florida and loved it! I love rollercoasters and spiders and snakes too
I have fear of falling too... I read in a website saying that there is some connection between cp and fear of things and people with cp needs extra security when dealing with this.
Did I hear someone say *rollercoaster*???????? Just got back from Cedar Point, OH (Best amusement park in America for the 6th year in a row!) and one of the rides I went on went 120 mph in 4 seconds.........STRIAGHT UP!
I love heights as long as there is no way for me to come crashing down! lol
BTW....there was a guy in front of me more severely affected by cp........he had to put so much effort into getting up the stairs.........but he did it and RODE that speedster!!! Certainly made me smile and put things into perspective!
