Emetophobia and surgery, please help?
I have a tonsillectomy tommrow, and I'm super nervous. I know the pain is going to be...intense, to say the least. I'm getting them removed for constant tonsil stones(I am now regretting this, by the way) and my doc said she's using radiofrequency to get rid of them. Has anyone had their tonsils removied this way? What was it like, the recovery, I mean.
Also, the reason I said I'm in trouble is because I made a very bad dinner choice. Tonight, I ate a slice of pizza and a few chicken wings. I was so into the pizza, I forgot to look up whether pizza the night before surgery is a bad idea or not. Turns out, somebody on a website listed that you should have been eating light foods, and "loading up on greasy food (like pizza) is not a good idea."
I am really scared now. I have emetophobia, and am terrified of throwing up, absolutely terrified. I really afraid because of eating the pizza, I'm going to be really sick tommorow as the anesthesia is adminstered to me. Has anybody ever been sick from eating the wrong food before surgery? (specifically a tonsillectomy?)
Edit: my surgery is at 1:30 in the afternoon
