I do a lot of posting on the pain management board, but I got into a discussion with a friend tonight about swimming pool drains. We were talking about the new covers that must be installed.
I had to confess a strange phobia I have of pool drains. When I was young, our city pool had a huge grate the entire width of the deep end, and I could not bring myself to getting near it. The manager gave me a tour of how the system works, and I know rationally I couldn't have been sucked down the drain, but nevertheless, I still couldn't go near the deep end. I'd go into a panic attack if I just got near the edge.
Anybody else have this phobia? I know it sounds pretty out there, but it's very real.
