| hypopituitary symptoms with abnormal hypothalamus mri
Hello all,
My name is Justin and I live in central California and I am a first time poster/reader of the health boards.
Since June of 2006 I have been suffering from something that nobody can figure out. I have been to many specialists in my hometown and I have been to the University of California, San Francisco a few times too with no help.
In June, I began to have massive headaches that would not go away and I started to feel tired all the time and over a period of 4 months I lost about 35 lbs. before they decided on a diagnosis of idopathic hypopituitary with diabetes incepidous.
My first MRI in September 07 was read by radiologists both in my hometown and UCSF and they found a "thickening of the stalk of the pituitary and a rice grain size abnormality inside of my hypothlamic region." The second MRI done 6 months later showed more of the same with no growth of either abnormality.
Doctors have told me that what makes my case very rare is that I have both hypopituitary and DI at the same time and they cannot think of anything that could be wrong with me that they have already tried on me. We have done a battery of tests and tests and I don't have things like hemochromotosis or any type of specific endocrine disorder that they can think of.
Currently, I am on a per day dose of:
7.5g of Testosterone
20-40 mg of hydrocortisone
.1 mg twice daily of DDAVP
.75 mcg of levothyroxin
1000 IUs of Vitiman D
Any help will be greatly appreciated. If there are any questions please let me know.
Thanks,
Justin
