| TSH and pituitary disorders
Can you still have a pituitary disorder if your TSH was never at 0? Before I started on thyroid hormones, my TSH was at 3.57. As soon as I started on the supplements my TSH went right to zero and has stayed at zero for 4 years. Once a doc had me go off thyroid hormones to test my pituitary and in 2 weeks, my TSH was at 5, so he ruled out pituitary. But since I was a teenager my female hormones have been very low, I"ve never had a period on my own and I developed osteoporosis in my early 30's. About 4 years ago I had my growth hormone levels tested and they were also at the low end of the range and my MRI shows my pituitary gland is concave, but didn't show any tumors.
I have read that if your hypothalamus isn't working right, your TSH will always be at zero on thyroid hormones.
