| Any information welcome.
Hello,
This is the first time I have posted on this forum about Pituary disorder. I'm not sure if I even have a problem with my pituary gland. I will go back to see my GP in a couple of weeks for some blood test results and then we will decide if I need to see a specialist or not.
This problem is this: I went to the doctor when i started noticing changes in my menstrual cycle and getting monthly migraines. The changes were that I went from being as regular as clockwork and having what I now consider to be normal healthy periods to having longer cycles and periods that maybe lasted one day.
I had blood tests doen. When they came back the first time my prolactin was slightly raised but my other levels were normal. I was sent to neurology because of the migraines i was getting every month and diagnosed with classic migraine with aura. About a year later I had the tests repeated: prolactin raised, thyroid down and cholesterol up. Within the last two weeks I have had one full on vertigo attack which was preceeded by a filthy headache that seemed to radiate from the back of my head and one of my 'eye migraines' which was not followed by a headache - thankfully!
I'm not even sure if this is the right forum to be posting on. I don't want to waste my doctor's time but is there any possibility these could be connected. reading around low thyroid can cause raised prolactin. I'm confused and it's not really my job to self diagnose. I guess I just have to be patient and wait for the next set of blood tests to hopefully show my hormones are normalising.
I'd be grateful for any input!
Thanks!
