Posterior Pituitary Adenoma, High TSH, High T4
I'm hoping someone else has the test results I have because I have no idea what they mean and my doctor hasn't gotten back to me. I was born with hypothyroidism (congenital - it doesn't work at all) so I've been tested all my life regularly. In 3/11 my results came back with high TSH and high T4. My doctor then told me he had never seen those results before and retested me then told me not to worry about it. I moved and went to a new doctor 3/12 to get my yearly test. Again, high TSH, high T4. This doctor again said that it was highly unusual and he wanted me to get retested to see if it was a lab error. I brought him my lab results from last year and with that he said he wanted me to see an endocrinologist. She retested me and again, high TSH, high T4. She sent me to get an MRI to check for a pituitary tumor but hasn't called me with the results even having had them for almost a week. I finally went and picked up the report from the MRI place and it says "small 2-3mm hypoenhancing focus within the posterior pituitary gland likely representing a small microadenoma." I don't know what to make of this. Is that causing the high TSH, high T4? Any ideas?
