Polio/PPS

I have a question?? Could a child who was born in 1952, have had Polio and no one, not parents, nor doctors ever know it??

Was there, or is there a wide range of severities of Polio?

Thanks for any insight on this!

Re: Polio/PPS

There is a range of severity, for example my Dad's leg was only affected, while another family members torso and legs were affected, some people are so affected they die.
I am not sure how it could have gone unnoticed at all though. Because depending on when they had the vaccine, if they already had polio it would make them really sick, and I think the vaccine was given out later than that, (at least here).
