I applied for SSI benefits years ago, and, of course, was denied. Gave up on it and went back to work. When I went to the SSI Doctor for his "interview" I was asked what made me think I had even had polio. I was so flabergasted I couldn't even answer him. All of my medical records from 1959 and the years I spent at a Children's Hospital having corrective surgergies on my lower right leg and foot had been destroyed. No proof of the diagnosis existed.
I am currently experiencing neck and shoulder problems from overuse syndrome and will be going to see Pain Management Physician. I am not looking forward to hearing what he will say to me. I have already limited a lot of my activities to see if that will help with the pain. I use heat and massage therapy as well. I have applied, once again, for Disability, however, I do not expect to receive the benefits. Thinking of returning to work since I do not like being a non-contributor financially. That Type A personality going on.
