Pps and Muscle Atrophy

Hi - Hope all had a nice Thanksgiving? Just wondering how many have muscle atrophy along with PPS? I have it in my left quad- actually I sometimes do not have feeling in this area or limited feeling- it is strange- at times it also aches in this area. Anyone know about Muscle Atrophy?

Hugs Janet

Typical to have muscle atrophy. However, polio effects only the motor nerves so numbness shouldn't be part of the process. If it is then something other than PPS may be the cause -- worth checking with your doc...

Re: Pps and Muscle Atrophy

Thanks John-

I have not been on this board again for awhile- I try in look on every couple of days- but these PPS is kickin' Butt- especially with this cold weather..

I will bring this up to my doctor- I know muscle atrophy is related to PPS-especially to have it where you first got the initital Polio- but I do not like this area feeling numb- weird also this area has some pain, which I don't like that either.

Thanks Janet
