I was confused by your comment-"I got a bad old disease and it made me that way. Kids always accepted that from me and I didn't have to feel bad about lying to them."
I don't understand the "lying to them" part. The polio virus is simply that-a virus.
An interesting note that I've heard from many polio survivors is that parents of polio survivors denied anything ever happened to their children, making it quite difficult later in life to explain symptoms. I'd never heard of such a thing.
Anyway, I think this is a great site and I'm glad I found it.
How did everyone else find this board? I was researching other problems and just stumbled onto the polio board.
